Hankin’s Story
Dr. Abram Kaplan, the founder of Hankin Greenhouse, is the head of the environmental studies department at Denison University. Hankin Greenhouse is located on Dr. Kaplan’s property on Hankinson Road and was built with the help of Denison students. Hankin’s mission is to use sustainable growing practices such as hydroponic engineering to create products such as microgreens and herbs locally in Granville Ohio.
In the future, Hankin aims to be able to sell the products, such as microgreens, to local restaurants and grocery stores because we believe in fresh local products that are grown from seed to bite.
Our Values
Sustainability is at top priority at Hankin. We use technology such as hydroponics to use the least amount of soil and create the least amount of waste.
We value sustainability in every aspect of our business. Solar panels have been constructed on the property to use efficent clean energy. Just this summer a variety of fruit trees have been added to the property to sustainably use the land and promote pollination.
Many of our values are inspired by the documentery “kiss the ground” https://kissthegroundmovie.com/and we strive to better ourselves for the planet everyday.
