Fruit Trees!
At Hankin, Sustainability Takes Root — One Tree at a Time
One of Hankin’s top priorities as a company is to operate as sustainably as possible. Right now, our focus is on how to use our greenhouse land in the most environmentally conscious way.
The most common landscaping choice—grass lawns—may look neat, but they’re far from sustainable. Grass provides minimal habitat for local wildlife, disrupts natural ecosystems, and consumes enormous amounts of water. When pesticides are added, the impact grows worse—polluting water systems and harming vital insect populations, including pollinators.
That’s why we’re proud to announce a greener approach. Hankin has just introduced a diverse variety of fruit trees to the property, including apple, peach, pomegranate, fig, and cherry trees! 🍒
These trees do more than provide beauty and fruit—they:
Sequester carbon
Prevent water runoff
Improve soil health
Support biodiversity
Provide food and shelter for pollinators like bees! 🐝
This is just one step in the right direction. At Hankin, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to support the planet one tree at a time. 🌳🌍
